Not at all! Whether you’re at home, work, school or boppin’ along on the bus, you can take it anywhere! Just make sure you’re in an environment where your undivided attention is focused on answering clearly based on how you do things when you’re completely free to be yourself.
The Index is fail-safe in that it picks up on inconsistencies if someone isn’t entirely honest or trying to look better with a specific result. For example, if someone skews their answers while taking the test in order to get a job, the algorithm picks up on conflict within the answers. This will tell the employer how congruent the prospect is with their profile and whether they’re a natural and compatible fit. At the end of the day, any program or system is going to work best when you engage with it truthfully.
Both conative (Kolbe) and affective (Predictive Index and Myers-Briggs) tools can play important roles in team success, they simply measure different things. Kolbe measures the doing part of the mind while the Predictive Index and Myers-Briggs assessments measure the feeling part of the mind, so they assess and identify entirely different characteristics. Also, Kolbe has a 90% reliability rate because it looks at instincts which are innate and don’t change over time while Predictive Index and Myers-Briggs have a 44% test-retest reliability because it looks at desires which often change over time.
